EuroSOCAP (Medical Privacy): Custom Content Management

EuroSOCAP aim to address issues of medical privacy and confidentiality in the information age, particularly among vulnerable patient groups. Their website helps them achieve this goal by promoting their work and allowing them to publish a comprehensive database of links to medical privacy information.

The site is currently undergoing additional programming work to add a register of medical privacy experts and also a news feature.

EuroSOCAP Technical Requirements

Because the project requirements were unique to EuroSOCAP, the website is based on one of our custom content management solutions. Built using Microsoft’s ASP.NET platform, it allows the EuroSOCAP team to classify links according to different criteria. Visitors to the site can query the system by either conducting a search or clicking on a directory of links which filters the links accordingly.

Because of the complexity of the information being entered, it was essential that the EuroSOCAP team were able to update the site themselves. Administration is carried out through a secure administrative site.

Enhancing The User Experience

From the outset, it was important that the site be accessible to all visitors, regardless of disability. The design uses existing web standards to achieve this and was validated throughout to ensure compliance.

In addition, the site employs several feedback forms to allow the user to contact EuroSOCAP: allowing general enquiries, reporting broken links, etc. Each of these forms sends an HTML-formatted email to the EuroSOCAP administrator and a copy to the site visitor.
